The research on Action Guide to optimize the execution of the plans of improvement and assurance of the quality in the Instituci?n Educativa Enrique Olaya Herrera - San Bernardo del viento - C?rdoba - Colombia; is framed in the guidelines established in the General Education Law 115 of 1994 and Decree 1860, in addition to the guide 34 that allows for evaluation to educational institutions, to carry out the improvement plans, in which a representation of the members of the educational community. Therefore, its purpose was to analyze the improvement plans for the strengthening of educational quality in the processes of institutional evaluation of the Enrique Olaya Herrera - San Bernardo Educational Institution, to describe the principles of the self-evaluation process, to characterize its components and goals for the Institutional Improvement and, thus, establish theoretical guidelines for the strengthening of educational quality. Regarding the type and design of the research, it is descriptive; the population consisted of 1277 students and the sample consisted of 15 members of the educational community: parents, teachers, students, the main technique was the review of self-assessment and improvement plans and survey. As a conclusion, it was possible to determine that self-evaluations were carried out, improvement plans in each of the managements in accordance with the regulations and following the guide 34 proposed by the Ministry of National Education.
