Description: El presente ensayo pretende realizar una reflexi?n en torno a la investigaci?n, pero m?s espec?ficamente sobre los diferentes enfoques epist?micos que conducen a nuevas maneras y m?todos de afrontar la investigaci?n social, m?s espec?ficamente en el ?rea educativa.  En primer lugar se inicia con un breve acercamiento al concepto de investigar hoy, para luego centrarse en las formas de investigar en educaci?n brindando un acercamiento a los tipos de investigaci?n cualitativa m?s conocido y finalizar con un aparte especial a un una perspectiva de investigaci?n en educaci?n que aprovecha el uso de las Tic denominada  micro mundos virtuales.
This essay intends to reflect on research, but more specifically on the different epistemic approaches that lead to new ways and methods of dealing with social research, more specifically in the educational area.  First, it begins with a brief approach to the concept of research today, and then focuses on the ways of research in education by providing an approach to the most well-known types of qualitative research and ending with a special aside to an education research perspective that takes advantage of the use of Tic called virtual micro worlds.
