La investigaci?n ?Fortalecimiento de las habilidades metacognitivas para el aprendizaje de la matem?tica en los estudiantes de grado sexto de b?sica secundaria de la instituci?n educativa Santo Domingo del municipio de Valencia, parte de la problem?tica asociada al aprendizaje de dicha ?rea y al fortalecimiento del mismo a trav?s de las habilidades metacognitivas en los estudiantes investigados. Propuso como objetivo general, evaluar el impacto de las estrategias did?cticas utilizadas por los docentes en las habilidades metacognitivas para el aprendizaje de la matem?tica en los estudiantes mencionados. La investigaci?n se desarroll? un enfoque mixto ya que se emplean elementos cualitativos y cuantitativos con el fin de hallar y evaluar un conocimiento v?lido para la soluci?n de la problem?tica planteada. La misma hizo aportes did?cticos importantes en cuanto al aprendizaje de la matem?tica y el uso las habilidades metacognitivas por parte de los estudiantes para mejorar dicho aprendizaje, convirti?ndose en alternativa did?ctica, para generar cambios significativos en el proceso educativo en pro de fortalecer las pr?cticas educativas y por ende de la calidad educativa de la instituci?n. Estas estrategias metacognitivas persiguen el objetivo de aprender a aprender, proporcionando al estudiante las herramientas para que sea capaz de abordar la informaci?n y adquirir un conocimiento ?til en m?ltiples situaciones. De igual forma ense?an a los estudiantes a ser cr?ticos, a aprender a pensar, a ser capaz de auto-regular su propio proceso de aprendizaje y, en definitiva, a que sepa utilizar diferentes estrategias de aprendizaje que le faciliten y le favorezcan la construcci?n de los mismos.
The research "Strengthening metacognitive skills for learning mathematics in sixth grade students in basic secondary education at the Santo Domingo educational institution in the municipality of Valencia, part of the problem associated with learning in this area and strengthening it through metacognitive skills in the investigated students. He proposed as a general objective, evaluate the impact of the teaching strategies used by teachers in the metacognitive skills for the learning of mathematics in the mentioned students. The research developed a mixed approach since qualitative and quantitative elements are used in order to find and evaluate valid knowledge for the solution of the problem posed. It made important didactic contributions regarding the learning of mathematics and the use of metacognitive skills by students to improve said learning, becoming a didactic alternative, to generate significant changes in the educational process in order to strengthen educational practices and therefore of the educational quality of the institution. These metacognitive strategies pursue the objective of learning to learn, providing the student with the tools to be able to approach information and acquire useful knowledge in multiple situations. In the same way, they teach students to be critical, to learn to think, to be able to self-regulate their own learning process and, ultimately, to know how to use different learning strategies that facilitate and favor the construction of the same.
