La presente investigaci?n ha tenido como objetivo analizar los puntos m?s relevantes referentes a la importancia de las TIC en la educaci?n superior, como base te?rica para futuras investigaciones. Para ello se han revisados aspectos te?ricos relacionados con la implementaci?n de las TIC en la educaci?n superior y su tipificaci?n en el marco legal paname?o, as? como investigaciones recientes con aportes significativos de diversos autores quienes brindan informaci?n valiosa referente a los cambios en la educaci?n superior a trav?s del uso de las nuevas herramientas tecnol?gicas. La metodolog?a se ha sustentado en la revisi?n documental. Mediante las distintas investigaciones se puede evidenciar los resultados bas?ndonos en las evaluaciones pertinentes que se establece en cuanto a la actualizaci?n de la educaci?n superior a trav?s el uso de las TIC. De igual manera, se visualizan aspectos importantes relacionados al tema tales como el cambio en rol del docente, el cambio en el rol del estudiante, el cambio en el rol de la instituci?n educativa y el cambio en el m?todo pedag?gico. En la actualidad se registra un gran cambio a trav?s de los procesos de evoluci?n tecnol?gica en la educaci?n; por lo tanto ,es de gran relevancia comprender como profesionales en la docencia superior la importancia de ajustarse a los recursos tecnol?gicos de innovaci?n educativa a fin de brindar una educaci?n de calidad capaz de formar profesionales competentes para las actuales demandas del mercado laboral.
The objective of this research has been to analyze the most relevant points regarding the importance of ICT in higher education, as a theoretical basis for future research. For this, theoretical aspects related to the implementation of ICT in higher education and its classification in the Panamanian legal framework have been reviewed, as well as recent research with significant contributions from various authors who provide valuable information regarding changes in higher education to through the use of new technological tools. The methodology has been based on the documentary review. Through the different investigations, the results can be evidenced based on the pertinent evaluations that are established regarding the updating of higher education through the use of ICT. In the same way, important aspects related to the subject are visualized, such as the change in the role of the teacher, the change in the role of the student, the change in the role of the educational institution and the change in the pedagogical method. Currently there is a great change through the processes of technological evolution in education, therefore it is of great relevance to understand as professionals in higher education the importance of adjusting to the technological resources of educational innovation in order to provide a quality education capable of training competent professionals for the current demands of the labor market.
