El objetivo principal del presente estudio es el de explicar la relaci?n existente entre las condiciones de confort y el desempe?o acad?mico, basado en una prueba piloto desarrollada con los estudiantes universitarios de la Facultad de Ingenier?a de la Universidad del Zulia, para lo cual se realiz? un an?lisis inicial para determinar los factores que se relacionan con el confort estudiantil, para proceder a aplicar un cuestionario previamente validado cualitativa y cuantitativamente. Adicionalmente se realiz? una evaluaci?n ergon?mica para determinar las condiciones ambientales actuales de las ?reas de estudio de la instituci?n. Las mediciones de la investigaci?n fueron realizadas durante el mes de mayo de 2016 y en las ?reas de clases, bibliotecas y laboratorios de ambos n?cleos de la instituci?n. Luego de realizar las mediciones y aplicar los cuestionarios se procedi? a determinar las correlaciones pertinentes a estudiar para realizar los an?lisis respectivos, realizando inicialmente las pruebas de normalidad a la data recolectada y estratificada para as? determinar el tratamiento estad?stico a aplicar a los datos. Finalmente se dise?? un modelo que permite expresar los indicadores del confort que est?n relacionados con el desempe?o acad?mico en base a las correlaciones encontradas. Al finalizar el an?lisis se encontr? que muy pocos indicadores de las condiciones de confort se relacionaban con el desempe?o acad?mico, en cambio algunas variables demogr?ficas, como la edad y la antig?edad en la instituci?n si se correlacionaban significativamente. Finalmente, se desarrollan una serie de propuestas generales que podr?an ayudar a mejorar las condiciones de confort de los estudiantes en cualquier instituci?n en las cuales se desee reproducir el estudio.
The main objective of this study is to explain the relationship between comfort conditions and academic performance, based on a pilot test developed with university students from the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Zulia. In order to achieve it, an initial analysis was performed to determine the factors that were related to student comfort, to proceed to apply a questionnaire previously validated qualitatively and quantitatively. Additionally, an ergonomic evaluation was carried out to determine the current environmental conditions of the institution?s study areas. The research measurements were carried out during the month of May 2016 and in the areas of classrooms, libraries and laboratories of both edifications of the institution. After taking the measurements and applying the questionnaires, it was proceeded to determine the pertinent correlations to be studied in order to perform the respective analyzes, initially applying normality tests on the collected and stratified data in order to determine the statistical treatment to apply to the data. Finally, a model was designed that allows expressing the indicators of comfort that are related to academic performance based on the correlations found. At the end of the analysis, it was found that very few indicators of comfort conditions were related to academic performance, while some demographic variables, such as age and length of time at the institution, were significantly correlated. Finally, A series of general proposals are developed that could help to improve the comfort conditions of the students in any institution in which the study is to be reproduced.
