The goal of this research was to design the components of a methodological training program for elementary and middle school teachers of education research subject. The research was projective with a cross-sectional and contemporary field design. The population consisted of 38 elementary and middle education teachers, who lead the research subject in the educational institutions of Sogamoso, Boyac?. A methodological training questionnaire and a research skill test were designed with an interpretation scale of 50 points. These were subjected to expert validity and structural validity. The reliability of these was calculated with the Cronbach's Alpha technique. The indices 0.92 and 0.94, respectively, were obtained after the tests. For the descriptive analysis of each event, frequencies, percentages, and medians were used. For explanatory analysis, correlations were calculated between methodological training and investigative skills, with their respective synergies. The findings show that the research competences/skills of the teachers and the methodological training received are not sufficient to develop quality researches. Furthermore, it was found that an adequate methodological training process contributes to the development of investigative skills. Based on the results, a course in Research Methodology was designed for teachers, in order to promote the development of competences that allow them to carry out quality research, and put into practice that knowledge in their classrooms, to stimulate, early scientific training in children of elementary and middle education.
